Our Horses

Photo of my boys on their horses with my mom and dad standing in front.  This was taken
at the Wayne County Fair in July of 06'
This is a very special photo due to the fact that in March of 07' my dad
passed away from a hard battle with Cancer.  He will be so greatly missed.
From Left to right is Mitchell and Pepsi, Marshall on Scooby, My dad, Michael on Sadie, My mom and Matthew on Bailey.

Pepsi Pedigree

Pepsi is one of those Cinderella stories.    I purchased Pepsi in October of 2001.   We were at a local horse sale and they had run through a bunch of appaloosa weanlings.    The last one they ran through was kind of sickly looking and was small.   The bid for her started at $75 and she received no bids.   So I raised my hand and took her home for $75.   It was rough at first as she was full of worms and 2 times I felt we were going to lose her.    Well with lots of TLC and good feed she has made a 360 degree turn and is now a 8 yr old 15 hand registered appaloosa mare.
We get quite a few comments on how nice she looks and it makes me feel so good to know she gets her chance to shine.   She is always used in 4H  in the summer by my 2nd to the youngest son .  He usually  shows her in halter, showmanship, barrels and poles.  She does well in Halter and loves to look good, you have never seen a horse like bathes as much as she does.    He was going to try Western Pleasure with her but due to a conflict with the goat show at the same time he usually has to miss that.   We so badly want to breed Pepsi and get a baby out of her.  I would love to breed her to a black and white appaloosa but we will have to see what we can find.

Bailey

Bailey Pedigree

Bailey is a Registered AQHA gelding.  His registered name is Magnolia Bar Bailey.     Bailey is a 8yr old and stands at a little over 15 hands.      We purchased Bailey from my mother in July of 2003.    Bailey is my oldest sons horse but is now handed down to mom as Matthew graduated this in 08' and is now in the Army.   I am taking over Bailey for now and will be training him on barrels and doing some fun shows with him.   Bailey is very friendly and personable and loves attention!  He places and wins many halter classes in 4H.  He is a nice looking horse that can ride to.  He is so fun to ride and is great horse to take down the road or ride to town with.    My mom raised him and so we have known him all his life and it makes it kind of fun to see how he is growing and what he is turning into.    He is a Magnolia Bar and Pac Bar Gold gelding and is very laid back when he wants to be with a nice willing attitude.

seven

Siete Sunfrost RW
aka: Seven

Marshall sold his pony Scooby and so now will be moving on to Seven.  Seven came to us from my cousin in Illinois.  She is a nice little palomino mare and has some awesome breeding.   He is excited to be starting another horse but misses Scooby badly.   He says if he don't like Seven he wants to take over Penny.  So we will be playing musical horses till we find one that suits him.

Sheza Gamblin Sadie

My brother Jeff and his wife Shari decided to give Michael a horse for his birthday and that is how Sadie came to be with us.   Thanks Jeff!  Sadie is a reg. paint mare.   She also has some very nice bloodlines. You can click here to view her pedigree.   She is a 8 yr old and rides nice. Sadie stands a little over 14.2 hands now.       She is quiet and likes attention.  Michael has been using Sadie in 4H and wants to get her into barrel training.  She is a quick little mare and can run and turn on  a dime.   We will keep working on her and see where we can take her.   He has used her in 4H for halter, pleasure, trail, games and more.   She is a little sweetie.   Mike is wanting  to sell her cause he is in those teenage years and wants a car now so I'll have to see what happens later with her.

I have to get better photos of Wendy but right now this is the only one I have that is any good.   Wendy is a 9 yr old QH mare.  You can view her pedigree here pedigree
Wendy was given to me by my mom and she is quite a little mare.   She has such speed and agility and is fun to ride.   I started her on barrels a little but then my husband needed a feedlot horse and so she went into the feedlot for awhile.  she will be coming back home for a break from the feedlot and then going back into barrel training.  While she isn't here I am using Bailey as my barrel horse.   Wendy is a loving mare and loves to have her head hugged and loves to be scratched all over.

The photos are when I first got Whisper, Last Fall and this fall of Mike and Whisper coming back from a ride.

This is a 2 yr stud colt I got.   He is a son of Duplicated Deck and out of a PR Sierra Sadie Mare who goes back to Sierra TE.   He needed a lot of work when he got here but he is coming along wonderful and has become one of my favorite horses.  He now has been worked on the ground and is coming along like a dream.  He took the saddle and bit like a pro.  I have been just messing with him with the saddle on him.   He so far is awesome and I can't wait till the day I can step up on this fellow!  He is going to be fun to ride I think. Whisper is the light of my life.  He is such a sweetie and he is riding so good.  He has not a mean bone in his body.  I am looking forward to seeing how big he eventually grows.

100_1619.jpg (2564444 bytes)Penny
The first photo is of Penny in spring of 09 and the other picture is of Mitchell and Penny riding in the fall of 09

This is Penny.  Her AQHA name is Whisky Woman,   She came to us very skinny with all her winter hair still on her.   She has turned into such a sweetie.  We have been doing a lot of ground work on her and she is just as calm and easy going as they come.  We stuck skinny little Marshall on her to get this photo and she could have cared less.   I gave her to my mom as she has a passion for Palominos and I am hoping having Penny here will spark that interest once again.  Penny is coming along wonderful and has been on a few rode rides now and is such a true and steady girl.  So far nothing bothers her.

Well  that is about it for now.  I know not enough but for me it's just the right number.
